The Cotswolds
Lakehouse

A true blend of his and hers styles. Minimal Japanese and Bohemian craft styles are balanced with understated luxury and playfulness. Embracing principles of Wabi Sabi such as asymmetry, roughness and imperfection, the space feels grounded and connected to its rustic surroundings.

Rooted in nature, earthy colour tones were layered with natural textures such as banana fibre, Japanese paper, hand-sculpted terracotta, woven bamboo, burnt wood and hand painted linens.

Traditional processes and artisans were celebrated, every piece has a story. From the tadelakt lined walls and curves in the hammam-esque master bathroom to the green beaten ceiling beams added in the snug to recreate the look of an old Parisian ceiling. The coffee table is made from Georgian river stones, the armchair in the master bedroom is hand finished with marble by a Moroccan artist and finishing details such as embroidered soft furnishings and abstract ceramics are hand made locally.

Kind words

“Katie and her team took our ambitious project and made it a collaborative dream. They were able to take all of our visions and (sometimes quirky) requests and turn them into something organic and cohesive. They immediately understood what we were looking for and were able to incorporate it alongside their fresh ideas. They knew when to push new directions on us and then seamlessly wove it all together, always making it feel like “us”. Working with them never felt like work and we are incredibly grateful for their help in realising our dream home.’’
